From Mishnah to Josephus: A New Digital Index of Jewish Personalities in Classical Antiquity

I have a new piece that I just uploaded to my Academia.edu profile:

It’s a hyperlinked index of entries in Hebrew Wikipedia and Toldot Tanaim VeAmoraim on Sages and other personalities that are mentioned in the Mishnah, Talmud, Late Antique Midrash, and Josephus. 

It totals around 700 entries.

The order of the index is roughly chronological, by category. The date range is from post-biblical (~300 BCE) to the end of the Talmudic era (~500 CE).

I plan to continue working on this, and to add columns for: 

1. Wikidata ID number (for example, for the famous 1st/2nd generation amora R’ Yochanan (רבי יוחנן), the Wikidata ID number is Q1397565)

2. Comparison to Albeck, Mevo LeTalmudim (the current scholarly consensus source for Talmudic biographies and chronology)

3. Comparison to the medieval Yichusei Tanaim VeAmoraim (יחוסי תנאים ואמוראים; this is an incredible work, which I plan to write more about soon)

4. HaMichlol (המכלול (אתר אינטרנט))

5. Otzar HaDemuyot
